No Name Calling Week

Poetry Slam
In honor of Black History Month, The Black History Committee will present their 5th Annual “Phillis Wheatley” Poetry Slam on Wednesday, February 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Library.  Enjoy a night of creativity as students step to the mike, bringing their original work to life while others read poems written by famous poets.  Music will be provided by a DJ.
 
The price is $3.00 in advance or $5.00 at the door and tickets will be available beginning Monday, February 1st in the Main Office or in Guidance from Mr. Womack.  The SLAM will end with refreshments from our International Buffet.

Families, Money and Habits - Navigating the New Normal and How Not to be Your Child's ATM is the subject of the next Heard in Rye lecture.  Nathan Dungan, author and founder of an organization that helps youth and adults achieve "financial sanity", will speak about setting financial boundaries and fostering healthy financial habits in children and teens.
